One of the few beacons of light emanating out of Washington DC has been Scott Gottlieb. In less than two years, Scott and his team have redefined both what it takes, and what it is, to be a courageous leader who takes the road less traveled for all the right reasons for others and with no form of self-aggrandizement. This is a rare and unusual state of being emanating from our government, or any other government for that matter.
Scott, even those who may disagree with you respect you.
Those who agree with you honor you, respect you and will sorely miss you.
Some of us will be praying that the legacy of courage and deep commitment to do well and right by the human beings you sought to protect, will be foundational in the leadership of the Agency’s credo going forward, irrespective of whatever political party is in office.
At the end of the day, we are all, or will be patients and we are all consumers. No one gets dodge that bullet.
Thank you Scott, for your tireless efforts in having all of our interests at heart. May you be the leadership model of safety and protection of human beings, while leaving healthy pathways for further R&D investment as a co-existent partnership.
I will sorely miss you and will compare every other Agency leader to the bar you have set from now on. DeeDee DeMan
